Former Mayor of Wellington
Anne was first elected to village council in 2010 and was elected as mayor in 2016. She was the first mayor to be re-elected without opposition and termed out in March of 2024. Anne grew up in Palm Beach County having lived here since 1969.
In 1998, Anne and her husband formed Alan Gerwig & Associates, a civil and structural engineering firm in Wellington. She worked for Engineers and Land Surveyors as a draftsman, and Computer Aided Design operator since 1982. She brought technical and marketing skills to the firm. Anne and Alan have been married for 34 years and have 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren.
While serving in local government, Anne served in the following capacities:
- Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council (board member)
- Palm Beach County League of Cities (including president)
- Florida Municipal Loan Council (director)
- Florida Municipal Insurance Trust (trustee)
- Citizens Advisory Committee for Health and Human Services of PBC
- Palm Beach County Metropolitan Planning Organization (now TPA)
- Homeless Advisory Board (PBC)
