Jennifer Morton is President of JMorton Planning & Landscape Architecture, the firm she founded in 2014. She has 32 years of experience in land planning, landscape architecture, entitlements and project management, and extensive experience working with residential and commercial builders and developers, institutional CFOs and municipal agencies.
Jennifer has earned an excellent reputation for her ability to manage the entitlements for complex projects. She is well versed in local regulations and ordinances, allowing for timely processing of plans and permits. Jennifer’s experience with zoning and site planning issues has provided her a wide range of projects including large-scale mixed-use developments, planned unit developments, neighborhood commercial centers, hotels, schools, churches, synagogues and overall institutional campuses.
Due of Jennifer’s expertise with project approvals, land planning and landscape architecture, other professional consultants include JMorton when pursuing public work. Representative projects include Palm Beach County Convention Center, Canyon District Park, Bert Winters Park, Plumosa School of the Arts and Roosevelt Full Service Center. Her firm is also a consultant for Delray Beach, Lake Park, Riviera Beach and North Palm Beach, among others.
As a Landscape Architect, Jennifer takes a special interest in the planning and design of outdoor spaces. Excellence and attention to detail are distinguishing features of her work. Jennifer has worked on many notable country clubs including Addison Reserve, Frenchman’s Creek, Broken Sound, Riviera, Ocean Reef and others.
In 2009, Jennifer became a LEED Accredited Professional. She has recommended and implemented sustainable design principles to many of her clients. Her firm works collaboratively with clients and other professionals desiring to limit their carbon footprint. One specific area where this can be achieved is with a mixed-use development. Many of these projects include strong pedestrian connectivity and interconnectivity that encourages less vehicle dependency. Increases in density that incorporate workforce housing allow residents to live closer to work thus reducing the impact of urban sprawl.
Like many business owners, Jennifer strives to give back to the community. Professionally, she provides zoning and land use approvals to many not-for-profit ministries including Hannah’s Home, Habitat for Humanity, Young Israel, The Soup Kitchen, Caridad and others. Jennifer is a board member of Hannah’s Home and a lifetime board member of Gold Coast Builders Association. She is a past director of the Truist Advisory Board and Habitat for Humanity, where she served as Chairman of their Property Committee. She is actively involved in number of charitable endeavors and her church.
Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Georgia, with a degree in Landscape Architecture.
