Gina Melby served as the Chief Executive Officer at HCA Florida JFK Hospital, from May 2004-April 2023 a 527-bed acute care facility in Palm Beach County, part of HCA East Florida Division. JFK Hospital encompasses various service lines, including cardiac, oncology, neurosciences, orthopedics, bariatrics, and women’s services. JFK Hospital is the county’s leader in emergency care, treating over 81,000 patients annually.
Gina began her career in healthcare as a licensed physical therapist. She joined HCA Healthcare as the Director of Rehabilitation Services at HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital. Gina was promoted to Chief Operating Officer at HCA Florida Northwest Hospital and served for two years before becoming the Chief Executive Officer. She led the team at Northwest from 1997-2004 and left to become the Chief Executive Officer. Under Gina’s leadership, JFK has grown into a multi- campus medical center, with the addition of two free-standing emergency departments, providing four locations throughout Palm Beach County.
Gina earned a master’s degree in medical management from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor of science degree in physical therapy from the University of Miami. She is committed to the local community and active in many organizations. Gina serves on the boards of the Business Development Board, Economic Council and Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County and serving on the American Heart Association Executive Leadership Team and Charing the Executive with Hearts for the 2024 Heart Walk. Past board member for EMS Advisory Board, past 2022 Heart Walk Chair for the American Heart Association.
