Leslie Mandell is the Director of Development & Communications for the Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County (HLC), where she is responsible for not only promoting an awareness of the need to ensure that Palm Beach County developers build affordable/workforce housing but also for creating opportunities to raise funds for HLC’s initiatives through individual and corporate support.
Leslie has worked in the non-profit field for more than 30 years, first as a volunteer and then as a professional. She has extensive experience in community outreach and development, having worked as a development professional for several non-profit organizations in Florida, including Palm Beach Dramaworks, Palm Beach Opera, the Friedman Commission for Jewish Education, the Anti-Defamation League, the Jewish Theological Seminary, and the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, as well as at The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore.
A former kindergarten teacher, Leslie earned a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Miami and a Master of Science with a major in Education from Johns Hopkins University.
Originally from Baltimore, Leslie has lived in Palm Beach County since 1989. She has been a member of the local Association for Fundraising Professionals, is active in her local community and volunteers on several community boards.
She resides in Boynton Beach and in her spare time, enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband, Richard and Daisy, her adorable, rescued dog.
